Inside This Startup's 'Home Office' in Poblacion, Makati
What better way to make the best of returning to the office than making the office feel like home? That’s the vibe Philippine-based startup Mosaic Solutions is going for with its unique “home office” in Poblacion, Makati.
Located between Poblacion’s food hub and Rockwell’s corporate center, Mosaic Solutions decided to take a unique route when it came to their office space. Instead of moving into a typical, corporate-style office, the Filipino startup decided to shake things up by moving their team into a vibrant house in Poblacion.

Reminiscent of a Singapore shophouse, Mosaic Solution’s office’s comforting energy is intentional. As its founder and CEO Brett Doyle puts it, “We really wanted the office environment to be reflective of Mosaic as a brand, but also of our culture—of one that's really built around teamwork and collaboration.”
Designed by AHG Lab for “organic collaboration,” the office turned old bedrooms into meeting rooms and boardrooms, the upstairs Lanai into a socialization area, and the downstairs kitchen and living areas into community spaces. Naturally, all the beds were removed to avoid temptation, but some of the original details in the house were retained, like the spiral staircase, the vintage lighting fixtures, and the unique mezzanines.
“We also are really cognizant the fact that we're a startup and we're young and more energy energetic and so we want the office to we really want the office to reflect all of that as well,” added Doyle.
The location definitely doesn’t hurt either. Who wouldn’t want to work in an office with easy access to some of the best restaurants in the metro?
“Poblacion is really the hotspot for food and beverage, so it's really on brand for us as a solutions provider in that sector. Also, it's just a fun place to be so people can go after work. It's a very easy spot to go choose happy hour down the street, meet up with friends, or go out as Mosaic team as well,” said Doyle.

As a technology solutions provider for F&B establishments, Poblacion was the best place for them to set up shop. At its core, Mosaic Solutions helps restaurants “streamline operations, drive efficiency and ultimately drive higher profit margins.” Its core product suite includes point-of-sale purchasing, inventory, and analytics, as well as a restaurant management system. It just launched Resto iQ, a Unified Business Management (Inventory Management, Purchasing, AI Powered Analytics) system designed to optimize restaurant and F&B operations.
Although Mosaic prides itself as a one-stop shop, it’s also able to integrate other systems into its platform to make things easier for its customers. Mosaic then takes all of this data and transforms it “from being descriptive to prescriptive,” explains Doyle. “[We analyze] what that data is telling them, but also [guide them on] the next step and how to use that and how to apply that, [and] make their operations more efficient and drive higher margins for them as well.”
Mosaic has already signed nine partners this year and plans to eventually expand beyond the Philippines into Southeast Asian markets like Thailand. So who knows? We might just see this office replicated abroad.
