The online shopping platform of low-cost airline Airasia went live in the Philippines on Thursday, January 14. Airasia Shop PH features a wide range of “quality authentic products” across a broad spectrum of categories, including Beauty, Fashion, Electronics & Gadgets, Health & Wellness, Kids products and exclusive airasia merchandise. The site works just like other ecommerce sites where customers can pick and choose items from their own homes and have it delivered to their doorsteps.

Airasia Shop partnered with the company’s own logistics tech venture Teleport for last-mile deliveries.

The new service is part of the Malaysia-based company’s strategy to expand its ecommerce presence in Southeast Asia.

Airasia, which was founded by Group CEO Tony Fernandes, has designs on becoming a “super-app” to take on tech rival Grab. It is now working to launch other services in the country in the near future, including a food delivery platform (Airasia Food) and a financial services app called BigPay.

To celebrate the launch of Airasia Shop, the platform is currently offering a 50 percent discount on selected items as well as free door-to-door delivery (with no minimum purchase) for all purchases, through Teleport, until 31 January 2021. Shoppers can also earn BIG Points every time they spend on airasia Shop or choose to redeem any products on airasia Shop using their existing BIG Points.
