Charlie Cojuangco Quotes Deadpool in Church Wedding to China Jocson

“You don’t need to be a hero to get the girl. All you need is the right girl to bring out the hero in you.”
This was what Carlos “Charlie” Cojuangco said in his speech following his church wedding to China Jocson on Sunday, October 10. It’s a quote from popular superhero film Deadpool, which stars Ryan Reynolds.
Cojuangco and Jocson were married in civil rites last April.
The church wedding was an intimate affair, with a total of only 35 guests at the historic San Sebastian Cathedral in Tarlac. Cojuangco is running for re-election in the First District of Tarlac while Jocson is a crisis management strategist and former assistant to the presidential spokesperson.
In his speech, Cojuangco, who was married to actress and host Rio Diaz before her untimely death in 2004, said that he knew that he was going to marry Jocson within two weeks of meeting her.
“Once you know, you know,” he said.
The wedding was attended by prominent personalities in business, politics, and entertainment, including Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, SM’s Teresita Sy-Coson, House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco, tycoon Ramon Ang and his wife, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and his brother Rep. Wesley Gatchalian, Rep. Jack Duavit, 1969 Miss Universe and Rio's sister Gloria Diaz, actress Ana Roces, and actor Dingdong Dantes, who is a good friend of Jocson’s.
The wedding reception was hosted by Tim Yap and Tessa Prieto-Valdes.
