Have You Seen this Gray Honda Civic?

The assistant secretary for communications and commuter affairs of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Goddes Hope Libiran went on social media to express her grief and rage over the fatal hit-and-run accident of her cousin Juan Carlo DC Oliveros that happened in the early hours of the first day of 2022. 

The incident happened along Baltazar Street corner Market Avenue, Pasig City, based on initial reports by Balitang Pasigueño.

At around the eight-minute mark of the video, a large piece of the bumper of a gray colored Honda Civic got torn-out allegedly came off after the impact. The video also showed a mangled motorbike and one of the two accident victims being carried to the hospital by an ambulance.

According to Asec. Libiran, the initial CCTV footage that was obtained shows the gray Honda Civic hitting her cousin’s motorbike who was on his way to bring food to his loved ones at around 4 a.m. She made a passionate cry out to the public on social media and asked for information about the hit-and-run suspect. She also called out the driver of the said car to voluntarily surrender and face the consequences. 

“Bagong taon na bagong taon, tinapos mo ang buhay ng isang binatang may magandang pangarap para sa kanyang pamilya.” (It’s barely new year, you ended the life of a single guy with hopes of a good future for his family.) We love you and we will do everything we can to make this criminal pay.” She said in her post.

We offer our thoughts and prayers for the bereaved family of Asec. Libiran. Hopefully the perpetrator will be brought to justice soon.
