Claire dela Fuente's Son Speaks Up About Alleged Involvement in the Christine Dacera Rape-Slay Case
Another suspect in the alleged rape-slay case of 23-year-old flight attendant Christine Dacera has surfaced. Gregorio Angelo Rafael "Gigo" de Guzman, the son of veteran singer Claire dela Fuente.
On January 5, De Guzman went on GMA News TV's Quick Response Team (QRT) program to explain his side with host Emil Sumangil. According to De Guzman, he only met Dacera during the New Year’s Eve party, after they were introduced by a common friend.
De Guzman went on to vehemently deny that he was involved in the crime they were accused of. He recalls he slept first, and only found out the next morning that something bad had happened to Dacera. He added that they even tried to save Dacera's life.
He allegedly performed CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) on the deceased flight attendant. They also did not leave the girl. He was also said to be one of those who rushed Dacera to the hospital, as well as one of those who went to the police to report the incident.
De Guzman said, "Andun po kami, hindi namin iniwan si Tin until the end. Hindi namin iniwan si Tin. (We were there, we did not leave Tin until the end. We did not leave Tin.)"
He said he was very hurt by the crimes they were accused of: "Kaya ang sakit ng mga sinasabi nila. Hindi nila alam ang nangyari. Nandun kami sa police station, sa ospital, sa hotel, hindi namin siya iniwan (So, what they're saying is painful. They don't know what happened. We were at the police station, at the hospital, at the hotel, we didn't leave her.)"
De Guzman also maintained that there is no truth about the rape accusation.
De Guzman promised, "Absurd po. Paano po naging rape. (Absurd. How was it rape?) Bakla po ako. Hindi po ako nakipagtalik sa babae, never in my life. (I am gay. I have never had sex with a woman, never in my life.)"
Another accused, Valentine Rosales, also spoke out on Instagram and vehemently denied all the allegations.
