Hidilyn Diaz Gifted Two Properties After Olympic Gold: House in Tagaytay and Condo in Eastwood
Olympic gold medallist Hidilyn Diaz didn't just win P35.5 million in cash. After her historic win at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Diaz is being showered with plenty of gifts, some of which come in the size of an entire house and lot.
Philippine Olympic Committee president and congressman Abraham Tolentino has awarded Diaz with a house and lot in his hometown of Tagaytay City, Cavite. Tolentino made the promise just a few days before the Olympics began when he announced that San Miguel CEO Ramon S. Ang was matching the Philippine Sports Commission and the Manny V. Pangilinan Sports Foundation's respective P10 million commitments to every Filipino gold medallist at the Olympics.
That cash prize how now jumped up to P35.5 million: P10 million from RSA, P10 million from MVP, P10 million from PSC, P3 million from congressman Mikee Romero, and P2.5 million from Diaz' home province of Zamboaga.
Not only is she going home with P35.5 million in the bank, as well as the deed to a house and lot in Tagaytay, but she's also receiving the keys to a P14 million condominium unit in Eastwood City, courtesy of Andrew Tan, chairman of Megaworld Corporation and the latest tycoon to gift Diaz.
"This epic moment is about 87 years in the making, and this is our way of saying thanks to Hidilyn for making us all proud," said Andrew Tan's son Kevin Tan, the CEO of Megaworld.
Eastwood is Megaworld's first-ever township.
Diaz, who is the daughter of a triciycle driver in Zamboanga, once said she grew up with nothing. For all her hard work and dedication, it's safe to say this only scratches the surface of what this Filipino deserves.
