Mocha Uson Arrives at the NBI to Explain Fake News

The government official posted misleading information about the pandemic on Facebook.

Mocha Uson, deputy administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, arrived at the Cyber Crime Division of the National Bureau of Investigation this morning, May 18, to explain a misleading post she published on her Facebook page.

Uson is in hot water after attributing images of personal protective equipment to the government on social media, but some of the photos were taken from the SM Foundation. The NBI issued a subpoena to Uson for sharing false information about the coronavirus pandemic.

If proven guilty, the government official may face two months in jail or a fine of P10,000 to P1 million, as stated in the Bayanihan We Heal As One Act.
