Almost a year to the day, NCR is back in lockdown—or soft ECQ, or hard GCQ, or whatever the hell the powers that be want to call it. Apparently, the label for now is “bubble,” which makes us think of the giant “Hex” barrier in WandaVision.

And if quarantine jargon wasn’t confusing enough, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has coined a new term for Metro Manila and its surrounding provinces: NCR Plus, which comes with a two-week free subscription, starting today, with a lock-in period that won’t let you cancel at any time.

Naturally, Twitter had a lot to say about NCR Plus. And once again, we’re using humor to deal with Covid frustration and fatigue, because if we didn’t, this could very well turn into a scene from The Purge.
