These 15 Local Universities Are Considered Among Asia's Top Schools
A total of 15 educational institutions in the Philippines made it to the list of the top universities in Asia in 2022, as reported by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings. The QS Asian University Rankings for 2022 featured 687 universities in Asia, ranked using 11 indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, international research work, citations per paper, papers per faculty, staff with a PhD, proportion of international faculty, proportion of international students, proportion of inbound exchange students, and proportion of outbound exchange students.
Top 15 PH universities in Asian University Rankings
In the Philippines, the only university to reach the top 100 is University of the Philippines, ranking at 77th. Three other universities who have previously made it to the list improved their rankings in the 2022 edition, namely, Ateneo de Manila University (124th), De La Salle University (160th), and University of Santo Tomas (177th).
The other 11 educational institutions in this year's rankings are: Ateneo de Davao University (501-550), Mapua University (501-550), Silliman University (501-550), Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (551-660), Central Luzon State University (601-650), Xavier University (601-650), Adamson University (651+), The Cebu Technological Univesity (651+), Central Mindanao University (651+), Central Philippine University (651+), and Lyceum of the Philippines University (651+).
In 2022, the list is predominantly occupied by universities in Mainlang China, India, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
