U.S. Mega Millions Jackpot Eclipses $1 Billion. Here's How Filipinos Can Join
Maybe we're just not meant to win the lottery in the Philippines. In case we're not winning at the local Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) lottery draw, we can always try our luck elsewhere.
The US Mega Millions jackpot, for instance, just passed the billion-dollar threshold. The $1.02-billion (Roughly P55 billion) prize is now the fourth-largest amount in lottery history. Imagine winning all that, right?
So how the hell is this relevant to us Filipinos? We can't possibly all have United States residencies, after all. Fortunately, that shouldn't stop us from joining.

The US Mega Millions is now accessible to Filipinos through this little site called TheLotter, an online lottery ticket-purchasing service that is available worldwide. It's pretty easy, too, and not to mention legal. This isn't one of those lottery scams, if that's what you're thinking.
It all starts by creating an account. Then, just choose US Mega Millions and punch in our lucky numbers. We only need to enter our personal details and choose a preferred payment method and we're set. A TheLotter representative in the United States will buy our ticket for us and scan them online.
The United States actually doesn't forbid foreigners of tourists from collecting prizes. In fact, if we win, we'll be getting all that money minus the commission fee. As compared to winning with the PCSO, there's a percentage to be deducted for lotto agents and the like.
Either way, it's going to take a lot of praying. With the PCSO, the actual chances of us getting all six numbers from a lot ranging from 1 to 49 are one in 13,983,816. With the US Mega Millions jackpot, it's at one in 302,575,350. So yeah, for this one, we likely need to call on all the saints we can for some lotto magic.
