Here Are the Best-Dressed Men at the Preview Ball 2025

These gents made it a point to serve dapper looks in local threads.

Conventional black-tie events and the call for classic menswear took a refreshing twist at this year's Preview Ball, as some of the country's brightest stars celebrated homegrown and local creatives via reimagined interpretations of heritage.

At the Marriott Grand Ballroom at Newport World Resorts last Tuesday (September 2), local pop culture personalities donned outfits adorned with tinges of Filipino artistry and styles embodying local culture.

This year's iteration of one of the premier galas in the country also celebrated the fashion platform's 30th year anniversary. Below are just some of the most dapper, effortlessly sophisticated, and classy looks from the guys at the ball, in no particular order.

1 | LA Aguinaldo

First up on our list is boy wonder LA Aguinaldo, who wore a simple beige-toned coat and matching trousers, a black dress shirt and dark gray tie inside. Upon closer inspection, we see uniquely shaped buttons on his coat that put an intresting twist on what can be considered Filipiniana.

Who says classic Filipiniana can't ooze style and class? Jericho Rosales, who plays the second President of the Republic in Quezon, director Jerrold Tarog's so-called Bayaniverse cinematic world, says otherwise. Rosales kept it dapper in a barong lined with tiny pastel flowers and a Cartier watch.

Actor and model Brent Manalo, who also landed on the Preview Best Dressed List this year, sported a beige and white top from local designer Koko Gonzales that was the textbook example of homegrown style. He also wore a gold pearl necklace from Jewlmer, a brand that prides itself in sustainably producing the finest golden South Sea pearls.

Celebrity doctor, businessman, and style wizard Hayden Kho waltzed across the red carpet with his wife, Dr. Vicky Belo. He came in a custom-matched Ivarluski Aseron barong and Belo's Filipiana dress. We also had to ask the power couple what they had on their wrists: Kho had on a vintage Patek Phillipe on a leather band, while Belo had a beautiful Rolex Datejust with diamonds on the bracelet, which she bought in Milan.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist and 2024 Esquire Man at His Best Athlete of the Year, Carlos Yulo, kept it simple yet graceful in a Vin Orias barong. He also wore a classy Panthere De Cartier timepiece.

Fashion photographer BJ Pascual also stood out in a sleek, white ensemble by fellow Caviteño Joey Samson. Pascual said the initials inside the loop stood for his grandparents, Josefina and Silvestre, and coincidentally, the designer's name also.

Tim Yap hosted the ball's red carpet reception in an armadillo ARCHIVES suit that he called an "armor for the times. "sculpted like an armadillo, forged by Filipino hands," he said in an Instagram post.

Indie music star and cool kid Maki went for a more contemporary look with a floral/beige top, matching shorts, and a bespoke handbag, for a modern Filipino take on "royalty."
