The Men of the Billy Crawford-Coleen Garcia Wedding Pull Off Destination Dressing

If you are one of the followers of the Billy Crawford-Coleen Garcia wedding saga, you can now breathe a sigh of relief as the endeavor has come to close.

After three pre-nup shoots (in Ethiopia, Thailand, and the Philippines), a nautical-themed despida de soltera, and a sort-of-Spanish bridal shower, Crawford and Garcia have tied the knot by the scenic shores of Balesin Island in Quezon today.  

As we are wont to do in Esquire HQ, we are going to talk about the suits or the lack of suits, because it is always a good idea to have a discourse on how men dress. The big lesson here: what to wear to a beach wedding. As these men show, you put on the blues of the sea, khakis and whites, wide-brim hats, and big, happy smiles.

1| Billy Crawford 

Despite the island setting, the groom wore a classic wedding rig—as a man should do. A two-piece suit in an elegant tawny brown is a winner anywhere, whether by the beach or in a church.

Here's a closer look of his suit by Edwin Tan. Crawford's nod to the location was foregoing the tie and leaving the topmost button of his shirt open.

2| Derek Ramsay

A blue that mimics the sky paired with sand-colored trousers is the perfect style move for a beach wedding. That chest-baring shirt swerve, however, should only be executed if you are Derek Ramsay. (And yes, we also see crooner Ogie Alcasid in the same idea. Who did it better?)

3| Vhong Navarro

Navarro pulls off a tricky style move by ditching the coat in favor of a vest. Other advanced feats (watch the video until the end): a loafer instead of an oxford and matching the color of socks to his trousers. Everything works.

Here's the full look. We're not sure about this pop-of-color blue, a theme in the wedding that might be too bright on a tie. (And hello there, streetwear star!)

But the ties that were made for the wedding came in other pastel colors, too, and we can imagine the pink ones working better on a regular day:

4| Kim Atienza and Jay R

Two things here: Atienza's amazing flower-print jacket and Jay R's hair. (Okay, three things: The ladies look beautiful, too.)

5| Tim Yap

A caftan is certainly a statement. At least, he's very comfy.

6| Dominic Roque

Roque went for a classic cornflower blue shirt, unbuttoned at the top for a breezier, beach-appropriate look. Notice the round-frame sunglasses tucked into the breast pocket for a movie-star effect; and Ryan Bang in the background, dressed in a plain white shirt with black trousers.

7| Jack Crawford

Billy Crawford's father, Jack Crawford, chose a cowboy hat for his son's big day. Why? We do not know.

8| Gary Valenciano

Mr. Pure Energy gives the groom last minute advice in a white shirt tucked into khaki chinos with a brown belt. Pro tip: Black leathers hardly ever work for beach weddings. Go for brown in lighter shades, if you can.
