Crazy comes in all shapes and sizes—for instance, the kind of craziness brought about by the pandemic is absolutely nothing like the rush of adrenaline you get from going on an epic adventure. If you’re sick and tired of your daily routine and feeling ready to spice things up, Boardriders has got everything you need for your next escapade.

2022: The Year of the Bucket List Adventure

It seems that nobody is shying away from once-in-a-lifetime adventures anymore. Revenge traveling continues to skyrocket post-pandemic, and after 65 percent of 12,000 travelers worldwide said they plan to “go big” on their next trip, Expedia named 2022 the year of the GOATthe Greatest of All Trips. Similarly, Amadeus has seen a jump in searches for “epic destinations,” and CNBC called 2022 the year of the "bucket list trip." According to research, it’s the destinations centered around outdoor experiences that people are particularly looking for.

However, although it may seem that everybody is going on adventures nowadays, the post-pandemic era also marks the majority’s much-less-exciting return to normal everyday life. Even if you aren’t an adrenaline junkie, it’s easy to feel listless from all the hours of sitting at your desk. Thankfully, nature is a magical thing; science has consistently shown that going out on an active adventure is an excellent way to recharge, as it can instantly do wonders for your physical, mental, and emotional state.

Premium outdoor sportswear store Boardriders opens its first branch in the Philippines.

To help everyone gear up for their next big thrill, Boardriders just launched its first store in the Philippines at SM Mall of Asia. At the store’s grand opening, Boardriders also teased an upcoming collaboration between Quicksilver and cult favorite Netflix series Stranger Things. The collection should arrive at the Boardriders store by next month.

Eco-friendly Fashion

Nature is the outdoor playground at the very heart of Boardriders, which is why the company is committed to doing business without compromising the needs of future generations.

Green panthers will be happy to know that most of the products in the shop are made from sustainable materials. Board shorts from Quiksilver, for instance, are manufactured using recycled plastic bottles. This is made possible through a collaboration with REPREVE, the world's number one brand of recycled performance fiber. Quiksilver has said that it “has focused on using recycled plastic bottles since the breakthrough of this fabric technology and to date has reused almost 250 million bottles that would otherwise have gone into landfill.” DC’s RE/SOLVE collection also features shoes that are made from coffee yarn, a fabric made from a 50/50 blend of cotton and recycled coffee grounds.

In collaboration with its partner store, R.O.X., Boardriders is also in the middle of organizing several beach cleanups in the Philippines.
