The H&M and DBTK Collaboration Is Finally Here
Since H&M announced a collaboration with streetwear brand DBTK, we've been patiently waiting for the official launch. Well, the day has arrived. The collection is available now—not for long, though, if you know how these drops go. And, copping a piece is going to be even more competitive seeing as this is the Swedish clothing company's first-ever Filipino-designed collection.
The 48-piece collection is the perfect introduction to DBTK as it highlights the individualistic style of the brand. With the theme "The World Is My Home," the collection is a way for the two brands to "[rally] behind the youth as they discover and live out what it means to be their most authentic selves, wherever they are."
For DBTK founders Emil and Vince Javier, the partnership is a humbling experience. From starting as student entrepreneurs, DBTK has grown into an empire. And being the first-ever Filipino brand to collab with H&M is another milestone.
The collab has been in the works since September 2021. "[The process] was quite challenging," Javier said. "I think we sent H&M three or four different designs for this collab, and H&M chose 'The World Is My Home' collection because I think that's the one that will really stand out to all our customers because this theme is our comfort zone."
"H&M resonates with DBTK aims to celebrate all walks of life and individuality, which is why they decided to reach out for a tie-up. And while DBTK took the reins design-wise, both sides worked closely to make sure this collection would be a visual representation of their shared philosophy," H&M said in a release.
The DBTK x H&M collaboration collection is available in H&M stores in SM Megamall, SM Makati, Robinsons Place Manila, SM North EDSA, SM Mall of Asia, Ayala Center Cebu, Festival Mall Alabang, and SM City Clark.
