Guys, Who Is Sehun, And Why Is He Trending Right Now?
From our central news desk: Sehun is trending right now on Twitter! According to vogue.com, he is the best-dressed man at the Louis Vuitton resort 2019 show!
Cool. But what is a Sehun?
It did not take long to be educated by fans in all things Oh Se-hun, member of super popular South Korean boyband Exo. In fact, how dare we not know Sehun, the well-loved maknae (that means "youngest") of the nine-piece singing sensation? How could we not know that the entertainer pulls double duty as both lead dancer and rapper for Exo?
If we wanted to sample his rap stylings, fans lead us to his iconic line, “That’s right, my type," from the song “Monster.” (Now, try getting that out of your head.)
Also, while we are on the Internet, they say we should check out his ’gram game (@oohsehun), because Sehun is the third most followed Korean celebrity in 2017.
The 24-year-old feeds his 13.5 million followers with a steady diet of moody shots interspersed with fashion posts, one of which is a snap from LV’s fall 2017 show, in which, wearing a black leather bomber, he was first named Best-Dressed Man by vogue.com (they must really like him). See here:
But we are here to observe the fashion. Is Sehun really the best-dressed man at the LV presentation? Instagram snaps show our fashion star seated beside Emma Stone, who, by the way, is obsessed with K-pop.
She looked charmed, but we don’t know if it’s because of Sehun’s “fuzzy mohair sweater with bold stripes” and a “stylized Vuitton logo” or his boyish mug. A pair of gray trousers and what appears to be embroidered velvet slippers completed the look.
We can not really affirm his best-dressed status as we have not seen the rest of the men at the show, but we can say this: If you can get Emma Stone to flash her Hollywood smile in your direction, you must be doing something right. Right?
Anyway, this out-of-the-blue social media explosion is not completely out-the-blue. The very devoted fandoms of K-pop boybands have seen a high spike in activity because of recent developments: Mega group BTS became the first K-pop act to reign over the Billboard Album Chart, while K-pop kings Shinee topped iTunes albums chart around the world with their sixth studio album for their 10th-year anniversary.
If we are to talk about clothes, BTS is known for wearing Gucci, Visvim, and Givenchy, while Shinee are directional trendsetters who wears WTH-styles that eventually become cool and popular (they pioneered skinny pants in South Korea).
So, we guess, we do need to know about these princes of K-pop.
