Kenzo's Fall-Winter 2025 Men's Collection Is Inspired by the Commuter Lifestyle
Kenzo's Fall-Winter 2025 Men's Collection inspires fans of the brand to go on a futuristic high-speed journey from East to West. Re-imagining concepts from the Maison’s Train Show from Fall-Winter 1998, artistic director Nigo blends dress codes, textures, and patterns with a playful preppy palette, reflecting the energy of travel.
He collaborates with American artist Futura 2000 for the collection's imagery. Futura 2000, a graffiti pioneer from 1970s New York and an abstract art innovator in the 1980s, shares a fascination with space with Nigo. Their collaboration in the Fall-Winter 2025 Collection fuses Futura 2000’s atom motif with Kenzo's boke flower. This motif appears on ripstop and nylon tracksuits, needle-punched workwear, and embroidered and bleached-print denim. Space yarns mimic Futura 2000’s spray paint style, while the Kenzo logo adorns the shearling varsity jacket.
Nigo's English tailoring gets a modern twist with fluffy textures and pastel accents, giving suits a preppy flair. Classic suits incorporate Japanese design, with jackets featuring kimono-cut waistcoats. Workwear includes vibrant mohair utility jackets, pastel work jackets, bombers, and denim suits. Intricate knitwear highlights the preppy style, and Japanese denim trousers come with selvedge-revealing details.

Patterns and motifs in the collection are inspired by train journeys, featuring train stripes reminiscent of blurred landscapes. Diagonal and leaf-shaped stripes, drawn from the Kenzo archives, appear in tailoring, denim, and shirts. Train-window motifs with Paris and Japan scenes are printed on shirts and t-shirts and appear in jacquard knitwear with train station emblems. The Kenzo Weave, inspired by Japanese flooring, is used in shearling and jacquard for denim and tailoring, and quilted over bright or khaki paisley from the Kenzo archive. Nigo also includes graphics honoring the Japanese pachinko machines of his childhood.
Inspired by the commuter lifestyle, the collection features leather bags mimicking brown paper in various shapes: bottle bag, lunch bag, baguette folder, flower folder, delivery tote, and shopping bag, with some appearing as graph paper. Japanese-style schoolboy caps and boyish Mary-Janes in black, burgundy, and cherry leather reflect a preppy vibe.
Round-toe creepers, available as shoes or boots in brown, light brown, or stone shearling and suede, blend subcultural and workwear styles. Spectator shoes offer formality with lightweight soles in black and white or black and brown two-tone. The Dome sneaker returns in collection's mohair and rough black suede. Leather belts feature boke-shaped eyelets, while faux boke flower boutonnieres serve as floral accents.
