Louis Vuitton Launches Its First Jewelry Collection for Men
Louis Vuitton presents Les Gastons Vuitton: the first high jewelery collection designed entirely for men. The line, as the name suggests, is inspired by Gaston-Louis Vuitton from the third generation of the Vuitton family. A creative and a collector with an agile mind, Gaston-Louis Vuitton had a thousand interests. He paved the way for a collection that investigates and celebrates his multifaceted personality.
In designing the line, Francesca Amfitheatrof, artistic director for Louis Vuitton Watches and Jewellery, wanted to divide it into three creative chapters (all inspired in different ways by Gaston and his passions) which present a total of 16 pieces and two masterpieces. Rings, pendants, necklaces, medals, gourmette, bracelets, and earrings feature design signatures deeply rooted in Louis Vuitton's heritage, the Monogram and trunk stories, reimagined in contemporary ways.
Laser cutting technology gives precision to the Monogram, applied with an innovative effect. While the maison's trunk is offered in its smallest version in a new shape that combines silver and diamonds. Materials include yellow gold and white gold, with titanium making its debut. This metal is the protagonist of the collection and gives life to Les Gastons Vuitton Blue titanium, a shade of deep blue inspired by denim. “Les Gastons Vuitton is the denim of jewels, elegant and versatile, just like Gaston,” says the brand.
