Under Armour and Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry
The Curry 6 features Under Armour’s full length HOVR cushioning system and pays homage to the Fox Theater for its first colorway. Its neon green outsole and orange midsole on an all-black exterior represents the theater’s iconic marquee when lit up at night.
“The Curry Shoe is something that gives me ultimate confidence to know that no matter what move I try, it's gonna ride with me the whole way,” says Stephen Curry in a press release. Curry is on the court for around 48 minutes, longer than most players on the NBA.
The story of the Fox Theater and the Golden State Warriors are similar in that both organizations have had a rough past but are now enjoying a renaissance. In 2009, the theater reopened its doors to the public after years of neglect and now holds a multi-functional space that includes a restaurant, the Oakland School for the Arts, and serves as a live concert venue. Coincidentally, 2009 was also when the Golden State Warriors drafted a then-21-year-old Curry, who would reinvigorate the franchise and eventually lead it to a championship in 2015, their first in 40 years. Two more would follow soon after that.
The good news is that Curry fans can already pre-order at the following Under Armour stores in SM Megamall, Bonifacio High Street, Greenbelt 3, Trinoma, and Robinsons Magnolia.
