Stüssy and Birkenstock Together Again: The Solana Sandal Is Here
Stüssy and Birkenstock work well together, so it makes sense that they do it again. Two years after the last collaboration, the two brands once again sat down at the table and created a new style: the Solana sandal. The model, with an oversized shearling-lined suede upper and a single strap, is available in three colors: ivory, caramel, and green. Solana arrives on the market in two releases, one on November 24 in selected stores and on the official Stüssy website, the other on November 27th on the Birkenstock website.
To give life to this new shoe Stüssy and Birkenstock were inspired by the archives of the latter, specifically by the Kyoto sandal but it has abandoned its traditional extra strap and is enriched with new details. The slip-on silhouette features Birkenstock's famous signature molded cork footbed and a hook-and-loop closure for a perfect fit and comfortable fit. The Stüssy logo printed on the side completes the sandal.
But Solana isn't just a "hype" shoe, it's designed to be comfortable in all environments. As stated in a joint note by the creators of the style: "With its combination of both style and comfort, the Solana is the perfect choice for versatile year-round footwear, effortlessly adapting to both indoor and outdoor environments."
Rumors about a possible new collaboration had already circulated in mid-October, but only now are we getting the full picture of the third partnership between the two brands. Previous collections, in 2020 and 2021, featured one of Birkenstock's best sellers: the much-loved Boston clog.
