Filipino Watch Brand Argos' Latest Masterpiece is Inspired by the Philippine Landscape
Following its initial foray into the world of watchmaking with its first model, the Odyssey, Filipino brand Argos has released its second timepiece, the Asteri.Â
Named after the ancient Greek word for "star," the Asteri represents not just a continuation but an elevation of the brand's pursuit of innovation and style in watchmaking, according to its creators.Â
The new model transcends the Odyssey's "go anywhere, do anything" style, introducing a distinctive field watch with unique character.
"For the second release, we wanted to fully encapsulate the spirit of wanderlust and adventure—the drive towards paths least explored—all while celebrating the wonder and beauty of the Philippines," said Argos co-founder, Ivan Jeff Soberano.

Inspired by the Philippines, especially the Sierra Madre mountains, the timepiece's Forest Green and Midnight Blue colorways reflect the country's verdant landscapes and celestial nightscapes.
The Asteri features a Japanese Automatic NH38A movement, a robust 316L stainless steel case, and a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, ensuring legibility and durability. Water-resistant to 50 metres and upgraded with a larger, more accessible crown and Super-LumiNova® for visibility in the dark, the watch is designed for everyday wear and rugged use.
The watch showcases Filipino craftsmanship, seeking to place the country on the global watchmaking map. Limited to 100 pieces per colorway, the Asteri is available for pre-order at a discounted rate until April 30, 2024, on the Argos Watches website. The suggested retail price (SRP) is P35,999.00, with a P4,000.00 discount for pre-orders placed by April 30, 2024.
