Much has been said about the benefits of eating greens. Finding a trustworthy supplier who can guarantee them to be fresh and delectable, however, is a different story. This is why Gerry Bacarro and his wife Isabel sought to make nutritious, natural, healthy, and good-value greens accessible through their food delivery service, Isabel's Dewy Morning Greens. Their entire family is, in fact, now involved with the enterprise.

THE STORY

"After my husband Gerry's retirement, we decided to put up a farm in Alfonso, Cavite, where we could also have a retirement home," says Isabel. "We then took a brief training on organic farming methods. We sought the help of various professionals to ensure our farm was capable of producing all-natural and pesticide-free vegetables."

"Every week, I would pack the week's harvest and make my own salad dressing for my children to come pick up at our house. My children loved them so much that they started sharing our salads with their friends and other members of our extended family," she says. "When production started increasing with consistent quality, we decided to turn our little hobby into a small business that directly brings value to consumers instead of going through the traditional middleman."

They then invited their nephew, Butch Tanseco, an experienced entrepreneur, to handle business operations. Their son Jim Bacarro handles marketing. Isabel's sister, Charie Sarmiento, and niece, Chinky Tanseco, lead the kitchen and recipe development.

SALAD FOR ALL

The dressings and flavors in every dish are easily appealing to the palate, from the salad selections of Salmon Pecan and Oriental Express to Pulled Pork and Peruvian Chicken wraps. Most of us on the Town&Country team are non-salad eaters, but having Isabel's Greens every day for a week made us change our minds. We looked forward to our healthy, filling lunch salads.

The Bacarro family has learned that "people do want to be healthy and are actively trying to find ways to find good nutrition and yet find it not accessible or inconvenient to get," says Isabel. "It warms our hearts that so many customers have given positive feedback about our salads which are conveniently delivered to their doorsteps."

HOW TO ORDER

Currently, Isabel's delivers to selected areas around the metropolis. The salads are delivered in the mornings, to make sure the greens are fresh with each ingredient carefully screened. Isabel's also offers a subscription service with customizable lengths.
