This Chopard Watch Is Exquisite Even Without The Sparkle
First launched in 1996, Chopard’s heritage collection, the L.U.C series-named after its founder, Louis-Ulysse Chopard-was produced in several variations and in rose gold, stainless steel, and white gold for the modern man. The L.U.C Qualite? Fleurier, which holds the distinction of having been certified by Fleurier Quality Foundation, is arguably its most impressive model.
The Qualite? Fleurier label is reputed to be one of, if not the most difficult to obtain, which might explain why Chopard is the brand that holds the record for having the most certifications, even though its newest L.U.C Qualite? Fleurier is only its fourth certified model (previous ones were released in 2005, 2009, and 2011). Before a timepiece receives a stamp of approval, it must undergo a stringent two-week trial period during which its precision, reliability, and other criteria are put to the test. Another requirement is that the entire timepiece and all its components must be made in Switzerland. “It’s not even a sample testing-every single piece must go through that stress test before it goes into the market,” explains Chris Neff, Chopard’s Asia Pacific managing director. “It really sets the highest standards of quality, and very, very few brands try to have it certified at that level. From the perspective of the watch aficionado, Chopard as a male brand is also well positioned because of its credibility.”
