Ever since it was announced that a five-door Suzuki Jimny compact SUV was coming, excitement started to build up with local off-roading and car communities in general. At the official unveiling at The Cove in Okada Manila last January 25, even Suzuki Philippines president Koichiro Hirao couldn’t contain his excitement.

“The Jimny, deeply rooted in a rich heritage, stands as a testament to Suzuki's commitment to excellence, he said. “Its popularity is not just a testament to its past glory but a promise of exciting journeys ahead.”

“Get ready for an incredible journey and experience the beauty of places yet undiscovered that nobody but Jimny can bring you,” Takei said.

The Tiny Suzuki Jimny Comes with Tons of Fun

1| Two extra doors

Admittedly, the rear seats of the 3-door Jimny takes a lot of more effort to get into for passengers, so the addition of two extra doors transforms this compact SUV into a more usable and practical daily driver and weekend off-road companion. It’s doubly handy especially when driving around with family or friends or when extra cargo space is needed. The rear seats can sit a full-sized adult and, with the increase in length, offers better legroom and overall space without compromising on the Jimny's compact footprint.

2| Rugged off-road prowess

The Jimny nameplate has been synonymous as a practical, compact, and go-anywhere vehicle. Despite the increase in length, it still maintains this rugged spirit, but with improved stability thanks to its longer wheelbase, which is longer by 340 mm than the three-door model.

The new Jimny also continues to have the following off-roading features—ALLGRIP PRO, a sturdy ladder frame, exceptional approach, breakover, and departure angles, 3-link rigid axle suspension with coil spring and part-time 4WD with low-range transfer gear, which makes it the perfect off-road and urban traffic companion.

Whether you're tackling rocky trails, traversing muddy terrain, or navigating through rough road, the Jimny's ground clearance, four-wheel-drive system, and robust chassis ensure that it can get the job done.

3| Timeless design

The Suzuki Jimny’s timeless design is a homage to its predecessor but it continues to add modern elements for a fresh appeal. With its classic boxy silhouette, bold wheel arches, and distinctive front grille, the Jimny exudes character and charm wherever it goes.

The five-door version retains these iconic design cues, enhancing its visual presence on the road while offering a practical solution for everyday use. The new five-door version seamlessly incorporates all the practical and functional design elements of the Jimny. Its signature round headlamps and 15-inch dark-metallic alloy wheels further enhance the overall robust exterior styling.

4| Performance and fuel efficiency

The Jimny five-door still uses the 1.5-liter engine, which is tuned for off-roading adventures. Despite its rugged capabilities, the new Jimny continues to retain fuel efficiency. Its compact footprint makes it well-suited for urban environments, where maneuverability and parking space are crucial considerations.

This combination of off-road prowess and city-friendly attributes positions the Jimny 5-door as a versatile vehicle that can seamlessly transition between the off-road landscapes and urban city streets.
