This seems ironic since the co-founder and CEO of Meta (formerly Facebook) is known for his modest lifestyle despite his immense wealth. Zuckerberg’s decision to create a bespoke Porsche vehicle is particularly noteworthy considering how luxury minivans are a rare find in the automotive world, much less a bespoke one. It’s not surprising though, because it shows a unique fusion of Zuckerberg’s personal needs and Porsche’s engineering prowess. There’s also speculation the unique automobile might feature high-tech innovations to suit his own high-tech lifestyle and advocacies.

Zuckerberg, who has been known to downplay extravagant purchases, has nonetheless had a history of interesting choices when it comes to cars. While he typically favors relatively unflashy models like the Honda Fit and Volkswagen Golf GTI, this new Porsche project could signal his evolving interest in vehicles that merge practicality with high performance. His appreciation for engineering and efficiency may have drawn him to Porsche, a brand celebrated for both. The custom minivan would likely cater to his family's needs while also embodying Porsche's signature blend of luxury and performance.

While Zuckerberg has not been vocal about being a car enthusiast in the traditional sense, he is known for his appreciation of innovation and precision—qualities that align well with high-end car manufacturing. His choice to collaborate with Porsche on such a unique vehicle underscores his preference for function with a touch of sophistication, aligning with his public persona of a tech mogul who values simplicity in his lifestyle but isn’t averse to cutting-edge technology when it serves a purpose.

“Priscilla wanted a minivan, so I’ve been designing something I’m pretty sure should exist: a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Minivan,” explain Zuckerberg. “Threw in a manual GT3 Touring to make it his and hers,” the Meta CEO captioned his post.

The Zuckerbergs have three daughters: Maxima, who was born in December 2015; August, who was born in August 2017; and Aurelia, who was born in March 2023.

The social media unveiling of his one-off Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT minivan is an ingenious fusion of high performance and family-friendly practicality. This is arguably the ultimate family vehicle and a gift for his wife, Priscilla Chan, while indulging his passion for speed, engineering and luxury.

West Coast Customs, the Los Angeles-based custom auto shop, collaborated with Zuckerberg to transform the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT into a bespoke minivan. Known for their high-end modifications, West Coast Customs created the one-off Porsche that has several custom modifications to enhance passenger capacity. It has an extended body, lengthened by about three to four feet between the B- and C-pillars. This clever design accommodates three rows of seating for six to seven passengers, but still maintains the Cayenne’s silhouette. Finished in glossy Arctic Grey, the vehicle has a set of electric sliding doors for easy access and added touch of tech.

Zuckerberg thanked Porsche for helping out in commissioning this build. Videos of the electric door can be seen on his social media post.

There are no specific performance figures as of this writing, but the standard Cayenne Turbo GT is rated at 650-horsepower with its twin-turbo V8, delivering 626 lb-ft of torque.  It can be said that this custom project echoes Porsche’s 2019 Vision Renndienst concept, befitting the status of the high-tech power couple.
