The first one was unveiled at the 2022 Neiman Marcus Fantasy Gifts at the luxury retailer’s holiday launch soirée in Los Angeles. The US market exclusive and bespoke edition is a charity project to fund the Barbie Dream Gap Project, the brand’s global initiative that partners with charities to help provide equal opportunities and remove barriers for girls. As of this writing, there are no additional details regarding the second custom unit which will be introduced next year.
The Maserati Grecale is a creation of the brand’s Fuoriserie customization program, which gives Maserati car owners the option to carry out customization work to fit their style and taste. The Fuoriserie Maserati Grecale is a Trofeo version fitted with a 530-hp V6 Nettuno engine and painted with Barbie’s iconic pink hue and accented with fine acid-yellow lines, inspired by the carmaker’s racing heritage.
The SUV’s exteriors will have the Barbie logos sealed with an iridescent topcoat that gives off an rainbow effect, especially on a sunny day. Inside, the black interior features full-leather seats, dashboards, carpets, and doors that are accented with pink stitching, while the headrests will have the unique “B” badge.
According to Maserati, the basic idea behind the concept is for car enthusiasts to choose the right vehicle to match Barbie’s multi-faceted lifestyle, ranging from a business meeting to a glamorous event.
