Tributes Pour in for Society Photographer Alex Van Hagen After His Passing

Longtime society photographer Alex Van Hagen has reportedly passed away.

The Dutch photographer loved the Philippines so much that he decided to spend much of his life here. For years, Van Hagen was a respected figure in social gathers among friends in high society, most notable for capturing people at events for his partner Maurice Arcache's columns. He'd be a constant presence within auction houses, fashion shows, and society parties, among others.

He was quite the shutterbug. In 2014, he even hosted his own exhibits, as well. There, Van Hagen showcased landscapes and still lifes from his travels in Europe and the Philippines.

He was also an elder statesman for younger photographers throughout his life.
