Dingdong Dantes' Rewind Coffin Sells for P250,000
Dingdong Dantes' Rewind still has a lot of fans reeling from its successful run at the Filipino box office. It became arguably the most important film of 2023, particularly for smashing records. Interestingly, its memorabilia is already on sale.
Most recently, a funeral service provider named Pasky Ilagan would go on to test the market for that fabled metal coffin in the movie.
He would go on to reach out to rapper, social media personality, and entrepreneur Jayson Luzadas a.k.a. "Boss Toyo." Luzadas had been the one to receive the initial bid as part of the popular online show.
The YouTuber, of course, is best known for collecting items from local celebrities, sports stars, and more on the Pinoy Pawnstars YouTube series. He had gotten in touch with figures like Jiro Manio and even PBA legend Bogs Ardonado.

“Ito po ‘yung ginamit sa shooting ng Rewind. First time humiga ni Dingdong Dantes,” Ilagan explained. The shop owner initially hoped to sell the prized coffin for P500,000. Boss Toyo, on the other hand, offered P200,000. The two would settle at P250,000.
The YouTuber also addressed Dantes, saying that he should go visit the story to sign the casket himself. He was supposed to sign it during the production. “Balak po sana namin—nung shooting kasi medyo mabilis [pero] pipirmahan sana ni Dingdong," Ilagan added.
On Instagram, Dantes posted about the interaction on a story over the weekend. “[Medyo] malambot naman siya sa loob,” Dantes said of the metal casket.
Dantes co-starred in the blockbuster with his wife, Marian Rivera. It was a highly anticipated on-screen comeback for the couple.
Directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, the film delves into the relationship between the two, culminating in an interesting proposition that allows Dantes' character, John, to travel through time. The movie premiered at the Metro Manila Film Festival in 2023, and became the highest-grossing Filipino film in history in January 2024. It would go on to top P900 million in earnings.
