So Now There Are Tide Pod-Like Whisky Capsules

Just pop one in your mouth and you're good to go.

Remember when the Internet was abuzz with those edible drink capsules made out of seaweed? Yeah. It was amazing, revolutionary, and sustainable. The possibilities were endless.

The capsules were first handed out during the 2019 London Marathon with electrolyte drink Lucozade Sport inside. And doing this saved about 200,000 plastic bottles and cups.

Now, however, the packaging solution has been adapted by Glenlivet for its Capsule Collection.

With no ice, no stirrer, and glass, Glenlivet says it's redefining how whisky can be enjoyed.

Yes, we now live in a world where scotch pods are a thing. And we have so many questions. Are people having trouble pouring whisky into a glass? How will these scotch pods be packaged? Was April Fool's moved to October?

Would you give scotch pods a try?

I don't see why not.

No. It's just wrong.

"The Glenlivet, the original Speyside single malt, has partnered with sustainable packaging company Nootka and cocktail legend Alex Kratena to unveil a ‘Capsule Collection’ of glassless cocktails that break convention and redefine the way whisky is traditionally enjoyed," the press release said.
