You Can Turn Your Pickup Into a Mobile Swimming Pool This Summer

You've probably seen similar photos before: A parked pickup truck with an expansive tarpaulin or polytarp sheet covering its cargo bed, which is filled with water almost to the brim. Instant swimming pool for the kids (or even adults, if they're not too particular about space). Just make sure to tie the tarp securely to the edges of the cargo bed so the water doesn't spill or leak.

These photos were sent to us by a follower of our Facebook page, and they reminded us once again that simple joys in life need not be expensive. This summer, you don't even have to go on a road trip just so your children can frolic in the water. Of course, that's assuming you have a pickup.

It's one more reason to envy those who own a BT-50, a Colorado, a D-Max, a Hilux, a Navara, a Ranger or a Strada. Snorkeling may even be possible with an F-150 or a Silverado.
