Leviste Street, Makati is One of '30 Coolest Streets in the World'. Here's Why
TimeOut, an international lifestyle magazine, has placed Leviste Street, Makati, on its esteemed list of "30 Coolest Streets in the World." Joining Leviste Street in this lineup are Melbourne's High Street, Hong Kong's Hollywood Road, Tokyo's Cat Street (formerly known as Chazawa-dori), New York City's Fifth Avenue, London's Gerrard Street, Madrid's Conde Duque Street, and Paris' Rue de Belleville.
To identify the world's coolest streets, TimeOut's network of local expert editors and contributors around the world each nominated the coolest street in their city. These are then ranked, which led to the curated list.

"On every street on this list, there are bold, creative new ventures in food, drink, nightlife, and culture: from listening bars to repurposed heritage buildings, these streets are where you’ll find a city’s most exciting cultural trends," the article read.
While Leviste Street doesn't immediately strike one as a cool dude due to its relaxed vibe, it attracts the "well-heeled and hipster set" thanks to its coffee shops, thrift stores, and assortment of eateries and bars, the magazine said.
Just a short walk from Leviste Street is Salcedo Community Market, a weekend fixture in the area, which has since relocated to a parking area at Paseo Center. It also highlighted Jaime Velasquez Park, home to the yearly Art in the Park.
The article recommends Elbert’s Collective, "which serves brick oven pizza, hearty sandwiches, and creative cocktails," and Golden Gibbon, described as "a cool ‘hidden jungle’ with a fresh take on Southeast Asian food."
