The 13 Best Apple TV+ Shows That'll Convince You to Finally Subscribe
Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Go, Disney+—These are the four must-have subscriptions in the Philippines for Western shows and movies. But we think it’s about time we add one more: Apple TV+. At P369 per month, Apple TV+ is a little pricey compared to Prime, HBO Go, and Disney+ (mobile). Only Netflix has a higher fee. But considering the content that Apple TV+ churns out, we’d say it’s well worth the price. We’re talking about some of the best shows on streaming at the moment, including award-winning shows like Ted Lasso and The Morning Show.

Ted Lasso
Ted Lasso might be a sports-centric comedy, but there’s more to it than that. There’s no one more lovable than Ted Lasso. We get it, horrible people make great television, but Ted Lasso reminds us of the best parts of people.
Prehistoric Planet
Apple really outdid itself with Prehistoric Planet. We’ve seen Avatar, Star Wars, and all those other CGI-heavy films, but nothing tops Prehistoric Planet. It’s so realistic that you’d think the cinematographers really captured footage from 66 million years ago.

Jason Momoa is at his best when he’s playing a hypermasculine warlord with a heart of gold. See has great action, drama, and world-building, but really, we’re just here to watch Jason Momoa brutalize lesser beings.
Foundation
Foundation is based on Isaac Asimov’s legendary work, which inspired Star Wars, Star Trek, and more. It’s space opera at its finest, and it’s basically Apple’s showcase of all of its sci-fi dreams and visions. It doesn’t hurt that Lee Pace plays a galactic emperor in it, as he should.
Severance
Severance is, essentially, a nightmare about work-life balance. Or lack thereof. In our opinion, Severance is more terrifying than any horror flick because it’s more realistic, in a sense. After all, what lengths would you go to just to achieve the elusive work-life balance?
Servant
M. Night Shyamalan really delivered with Servant. It’s a psychological horror about a couple, a nanny, and a baby, rife with all sorts of dark and tragic imagery. But its real strength is in the bizarre, dark humor injected into inappropriate scenes.
Shrinking
Who would have thought that Harrison Ford and Jason Segel would have so much chemistry? The comedy series follows Ford as an unethical therapist and Segel as a man in grief, as they both try to get on with life. It’s a simple premise, but the wholesome humor will make you smile through the tears.
The Morning Show
With Tucker Carlson off the air, now is the best time to watch The Morning Show, which is essentially a satire about the worst (and best) parts of American news television. It also examines the workplace culture of broadcasting, which might make you look twice at your own favorite news anchors.
Pachinko
If you ever wanted to learn more about Korea and Japan’s tense relations, Pachinko is the show to watch. It follows a Korean family who immigrated to Osaka in the early 20th century and recounts the racism and struggles that they experienced in Japan. Based on the novel of the same name, Pachinko will pull at your heartstrings.
Silo
We see a theme here: Apple loves sci-fi and post-apocalyptic dramas. Silo is both. The series was just released on Apple TV+. It follows a human community that lives underground because of a post-apocalyptic event that destroyed the Earth’s surface. It sounds a little like City of Ember, but with a little more violence, drama, and adult supervision needed.
Little America
As Hamilton once said, “Immigrants—we get the job done.” Little America is an anthology about the inspiring real-life stories of American immigrants. Released in 2020 at the height of anti-immigration sentiments, Little America deserves a rewatch once a year to be reminded of the good in people.
For All Mankind
We’re suckers for alternative history shows. For All Mankind reimagines a world where Russians were actually the first to land on the Moon. What ensues is the first “space race.” If you love following the real-life space race now between SpaceX, Blue Origin, and Virgin Galactic, you’ll be more than satisfied with For All Mankind.
