Even Joe Rogan Is Defending Barbie Against the Ben Shapiros of the World
“It’s a f— doll movie!” says Joe Rogan in defense of Barbie’s most passionate haters.
Barbie, which is expected to surpass $1 billion at the worldwide box office, is the movie of the summer, but its haters aren’t pleased. Since the film was released, conservatives like Ben Shapiro and Bill Maher have ridiculed the film for its supposedly “woke” themes. Some even claim that Barbie is anti-man, but Joe Rogan certainly doesn’t agree.

Rogan might be known for his hot takes and unpopular opinions, but when it comes to Barbie, he’s siding with its fans. In his podcast episode with Post Malone, Rogan had a lot to say about those who were so incensed by Barbie.
“A lot of people are upset about the Barbie movie, and I left perplexed. [Barbie is] a fun, silly movie about dolls who come to life,” said Rogan. "But a lot of it is about the patriarchy, and it’s a comedy—a comedy about dolls. People are upset that it’s this progressive metaphor for life like they’re pushing progressive politics in this, and I’m like, ‘It’s a f—ing doll movie!’ It’s a doll movie. It’s a fun movie about dolls who come to life and try to interact with the real world."
Calling Barbie bizarre but interesting, Rogan also questioned why some people were so affected: “How did people get outraged by that? I know some people personally who said it’s anti-men. I’m like, ‘No, it’s making fun of dorks.’”
He even poked at the critics who were appalled that the male actors weren’t the main characters in Barbie’s story. “They think it’s a super woke movie. But it’s a movie about how Barbies are the dolls that everyone cares about, and Ken is just an accessory, which is real.”
And in another (surprisingly) relatable moment, Rogan said he was “appalled by how easily outraged some people are.”
Then he dropped some common sense, which seems to be lacking nowadays. If you knew you were going to hate the movie, why watch it in the first place? We can’t say this was a direct jab at Ben Shapiro, but it sure does sound familiar.
"Why would you go see AC/DC if you hate AC/DC? If you’re into classical music?" said Rogan.
In short, Barbie is a fun movie. Emphasis on “movie.” It’s not the communist manifesto for some underground anti-men movement. People need to chill the f— out.
