Keanu Reeves on Cutting a Gentleman's Head Open, Someone Getting Hit By a Car on the Set of John Wick
Cutting someone’s head open. Getting hit by a car. Seems like just another day on the set of John Wick. Now showing in cinemas nationwide wide, John Wick: Chapter 4 went above and beyond when it came to the stunts. By our count alone, Keanu Reeves should have broken his back at least twice filming John Wick 4 as the stunts just about defy gravity.
John Wick outdid itself again with this fourth installment, but it wasn’t without a few hiccups. And by hiccups, we mean inevitable set accidents. It isn’t the first time we’ve heard of the cast and stunt crew getting bumps and bruises on the set of a John Wick film, but this story might just take the cake.

In an interview with Comicbook.com, Reeves revealed one of the worst set injuries was accidentally caused by the star himself.
“I made a mistake once—I cut a gentleman's head open. So that really fucking sucked (excuse my language). But other than that—oh, one guy got hit by a car. He was in the car, so he had to go to the hospital, but he was okay,” said Keanu nonchalantly.
As we said, just another day on the John Wick set. And let's be real, who could ever stay mad at Keanu Reeves? He could cut our heads open, and we’d say it was our fault for slipping.
Jokes aside, John Wick takes its stunts and safety seriously. Stunts are performed by professionals—they’re the reason they look so good in the first place. Just take a look at this insane behind-the-scenes shot of a stuntman falling down a goddamn elevator.
As brutal as stunt work can be, Reeves knows to look after his team.
"All of this to say: that you do have to take care," said Reeves. "But it's great that everyone [on set] is watching out for each other. So there's some bruising and aches and pains, but [PSA], 'No humans were harmed in the filming of this motion picture!'"
