Looks Like Someone Big Is Dying In 'Stranger Things' Season 4
Stranger Things season four could be set for a major character death, if a tease by the show's writers is anything to go by. The show already devastated fans at the end of season three by seemingly killing off Hopper—though whether he is actually dead remains to be seen.
However, when asked to describe the fourth season in emojis, the show writers' Twitter account sparked speculation of someone's demise.
They responded with clown, cowboy, frustration and skull emojis, which could suggest a number of things, frankly—though we're willing to bet that at least one major character, either good or bad, may meet their demise.
The tease comes after the writers previously revealed the first season four episode title, 'Chapter One: The Hellfire Club', with a picture of the script cover. It also seems that the new run could introduce at least four new characters, as well as the idea of time travel.
Meanwhile, Hopper actor David Harbour recently admitted that he initially thought the series would fail. "I was sure it was gonna be a complete disaster and a big failure before it came out," he said. "I remember when we were shooting, too, we would all sit around talking about how terrible it was gonna be, mainly because of my performance.
"I thought I was tanking the whole show. And then, before it came out, you normally see things on buses. I live in New York, I'm wandering around, buses, phone booths, there's ads for shows. Not a single ad."
He added: "And then the show came out and it was an overnight, zeitgeist success."
