The legendary Filipino rock band Eraserheads are set to play their crowd favorites, deep cuts, and even brand new music at the upcoming Eraserheads: Electric Fun Music Festival in October.

The four piece outfit will be performing a two-hour long headlining set at the festival with the expected performance of the ā€œGet This Love Thing Down," anĀ unreleased track that was teased at the screening of the band’s official documentary Eraserheads: Combo On The Run held at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) earlier this month.

Electric Fun Music Festival, which will be held at the SMDC Festival Grounds in ParaƱaque, features a stacked lineup of local acts such as Itchyworms, Moonstar88, Imago, Basti Artadi, Dong Abay Music Organization, Alyson, General Luna, Party Pace, Pinkmen, and Sa Vie.

The festival was originally slated to push through on May 31 but was postponed to October 18 as the WEU Event Management Services and nDVent Productions released a statement saying the delay intended to ā€œmake the experience even more memorable.ā€

This came after Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia announced in April that Marcus Adoro, the band’s guitarist, would withdraw from the show amid resurfaced sexual abuse allegations.

In a previous statement in June, the festival producers said that Adoro was back in the show as he ā€œmaintains his innocence and has presented the steps he has taken to assert his innocence through the appropriate legal channels.ā€ It added that the guitarist’s legal counsel assured them that playing in the festival would not hinder ā€œongoing efforts to seek a fair and lawful resolution.ā€

Electric Fun Music Festival’s lineup was handpicked by the members of the iconic OPM rock band themselves and had been announced during the premier of their official documentary.

In December 2022, the band played their ā€œHuling El Bimboā€ reunion concert to 50,000 fans that have been salivating for a comeback for years.

The show featured a hologram of the late rap legend Francis Magalona and a guest performance from Mr. Pure Energy himself Gary Valenciano. A live album was released on major streaming platforms in March last year.

The guys played their Cutterpillow album in its entirety as they closed out their set with ā€œAng Huling El Bimbo.ā€

Esquire Philippines named the band Artist of the Year that year as a testament to the group’s staying power and innate coolness throughout the decades.

They went on a world tour starting in 2023 with stops in the US, Canada, Singapore, Dubai, Qatar, New Zealand, and Australia.

Buendia left the group in 2002 which eventually led to the group’s dissolution and the start of their respective successful solo projects.

The Eraserheads put out seven studio albums, five compilation albums, and three EPs that have spawned classic songs such as ā€œLigaya,ā€ ā€œOverdrive,ā€ ā€œWith a Smile,ā€ ā€œMagasin,ā€ ā€œToyang,ā€ among other smash hits.

ā€œI’m excited for our new and longtime fans to hear what we came up with,ā€ said Buendia. ā€œWe've each grown to different phases and explored different sounds, but this song reflects where we are now—emotionally, musically, and spiritually.ā€
