Capricorn? Leo? Scorpio? Spotify Launches Curated Playlists For Each Sign of the Zodiac

Spotify has unveiled a new set of playlists based on the 12 horoscope signs. The music streaming platform said it worked with astrologer Chani Nicholas on the new Cosmic Playlists, combining her astrological readings with the particular sign’s “theme of the moment.” The playlist itself is curated with songs and artists “whose music reflects and evokes those themes.” 

“When a song resonates with you, it might feel really personal, like it’s speaking about your own experience,” Nicholas says in an interview published on Spotify’s website. “But it’s also speaking to a huge, broad audience. When there’s something collectively going on where a song resonates for a lot of people, it’s the same way that a horoscope will speak to the archetypal themes of the moment.

“Astrology is about a specific moment in time,” she adds. “Each moment has a specific astrological mark or archetype associated with it, that defines it. Spotify and I have come together to take the theme of the moment for each sign and curate a playlist that reflects that.”

Nicholas says users can use the playlist for “inspiration,” “healing,” and “reflection.”

“You can use it for your own personal morning dance party,” she says. “It’s a collection of theme songs for your month, astrologically speaking.”

Led by the current zodiac sign, Capricorn, all 12 playlists were created last January 17 and can now be accessed on the website and app.

The songs are updated every month, presumably to match each person’s astrological makeup for that month.
