The Directors' Guild of the Philippines, Inc. Has a Powerful Message for Voters
Some of the biggest names in Philippine cinema spoke candidly in a video statement urging citizens to vote not just for themselves, but for their fellow countrymen.
With just a few days to go before the May 9 polls, the Directors’ Guild of the Philippines Inc. (DGPI) released a message that was signed by some of the country's most venerated directors. This includes narrations from the likes of National Artist for Film Kidlat Tahimik and Lav Diaz.
In the video statement, the directors named the qualities we should all be looking for in our next president, from Antoinette Jadaone's emphasis on respect for each Filipino and Erik Matti's call for a leader who will let truth prevail to Kidlat Tahimik's ominous appeal to choose light amidst the darkness.
