Robert Pattinson is a sparkly vampire no more. The soon-to-be Batman is now the world’s most handsome man, according to The Daily Mail. Now, The Daily Mail is hardly the epitome of reliable journalism, but they might be right on this front.

Using the Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Julian de Silva helped The Daily Mail decide that Pattinson was in fact the most mathematically and objectively beautiful man on the planet. If that doesn’t take a number on your self-esteem, get this:

The Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi is a mathematical formula created by Renaissance artists to sculpt faces of physical perfection. The formula measures elements of the face like the eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, chin, jaw, and facial shape (width and length) and determines just how close the ratio of these measurements is to the “perfect face” when compared to the Golden Ratio.

According to Silva, Edward Cullen/Bruce Wayne was 92.15 percent accurate to the perfect face, beating out Henry Cavill, who was only 91.64 percent accurate. Other frontrunners were Bradley Cooper, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Hugh Jackman, David Beckham, Idris Elba, Kanye West, and Ryan Gosling.

If you want to know how your face measures up to the equation, you can try downloading the Marquardt Mask, a repose frontal mask created by Dr. Stephen Marquardt that uses pentagons and decagons. Overlay the mask over a photo of your face in Photoshop and see how “perfect” your face is. Or maybe not. What you don’t know won’t hurt you.

But before you take this seriously, take note that this is hardly a perfect science. A number of mathematicians and scientists who do not possess Henry Cavill’s cheekbones call this supposed equation for perfection nothing short of bullshit. And we, cursed without Brad Pitt’s chiseled jawline, agree.
