Another Incentive for Carlos Yulo: a P4.8 Million Toyota Land Cruiser
The prizes for Carlos Yulo keep coming in. The double gold medalist at the Paris Olympics already has millions in cash prizes from government and private companies, not to mention a P32 million three-bedroom condominium unit from property development company Megaworld.
On Thursday (August 15), Japanese automotive giant Toyota announced that it was rewarding Yulo with a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. The full-sized SUV, said to be worth a cool P4.5 million, is a gift from the car company, which is also a global sponsor of the Olympics this year.

According to sources from within Toyota Motor Philippines, Yulo was initially set to receive two units: an MPV, possibly the Toyota Innova, and a Crossover (possibly the Corolla Cross). But it was later decided to reward him with a higher-value unit because it was more fitting for the milestone.
Toyota posted a social media message announcing the gift. “We hope this vehicle brings you to greater heights,” the company said. “We are excited to see where your journeys can further take you.”
Toyota also said it was committed to help Yulo give back to the community. “As part of Toyota’s global Start Your Impossible movement, we are also looking forward to work with you on your chosen advocacy, which is food security especially for children in need.”
The Land Cruiser Prado, now on its fifth generation, is Toyota’s full-sized four-wheel drive SUV. The lone variant available here in the country is powered by a T24A-FTS 2.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It features leather upholstery, a 12.3 inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 10-speaker sound system.

Toyota Motor Philippines Hands Carlos Yulo His New Land Cruiser Prado
Toyota Motor Philippines, on September 16, turned over the brand new Land Cruiser Prado to Yulo in a ceremony led by TMP President Masando Hashimoto and Vice Chairman Dr. David Go at the manufacturing plant in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
"Thank you, Caloy, for being an inspiration. Like the Prado, you are legendary in every way. We hope the Prado will Move Your World and help you achieve even more," shared TMP President Masando Hashimoto during his speech.
The Filipino gymnast also went on a tour around the manufacturing plant, particularly in the assembly area of Vios, Innova, and soon-to-be-launched Tamaraw.
"I know this gift isn’t just about me. It’s about this community that has been cheering me on. Toyota, I am so grateful to be a part of your team, this leading brand, this community, and I hope that this gift will inspire others to also chase their own dreams and never give up," shared Yulo during his acceptance speech.
