AirAsia to Introduce Manila-Nagoya Route in October

Soon, you will be able to fly straight to one of Japan's cultural havens through AirAsia. The airline is introducing flights between the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila to the Chubu International Airport in Nagoya, with the goal of expanding its network in Japan.

Citing data from research portal Statista, the air carrier says almost half (48 percent) of Filipinos look to Japan as one of their favorite holiday destinations. So, by augmenting its trips to the East Asian neighbor, it could potentially increase its riderships. 

“Japan is one of the strongest regional markets for AirAsia Philippines,” Ricky Isla, CEO of AirAsia Philippines, said.

Starting October 29, the airline will fly the Manila-Nagoya route three times weekly—every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. This would coincide with the autumn season in Japan, so travelers will be able to enjoy a sunny yet cooler weather. Currently, AirAsia only offers flights to the Japanese cities of Narita and Osaka from Manila.

According to AirAsia, passengers can avail of one-way base fare tickets to Nagoya for as low as P888 until August 11. These will be valid for flights between October 29, 2024 and March 29, 2025.
