Finally, Staycation: All the Hotels Allowed to Operate Starting October 16

Aside from the reopening of cinemas and theme parks, accredited hotels will also be able to reopen to the public. 

Now that a majority of the population in Metro Manila is fully vaccinated, the government has decided to relax some of the pandemic restrictions as it lowered the region’s alert status to Level 3. 

"Individuals of all ages may check-in for a staycation. However, to ensure the safety of all guests, only those 18 years old and above who are fully vaccinated shall be allowed to book their stay," the Department of Tourism (DOT) said on October 14. 

Under the amended guidelines, only DOT-accredited staycation hotels with government-issued safety seal certification will be allowed to accommodate staycation guests.

The updated list provided by the DOT includes the following hotels:

4. Nobu Hotel
5. Joy Nostalg Hotel & Suites Manila
6. EDSA Shangri-la Manila
7. Solaire Resort
8. Hyatt Regency
9. Nuwa Hotel of City of Dreams
10. The Peninsula Manila
11. Aruga by Rockwell
12. Sheraton Manila Hotel
13. Hilton Manila
14. Hotel Okura Manila
15. Conrad Manila
16. Diamond Hotel Philippines
17. Discovery Primea
18. Discovery Suites
19. Fairmont and Raffles Hotel
20. Makati Diamond Residences
21. Marco Polo Hotel
22. New World Hotel Makati
23. Sofitel Philippines Plaza

“We welcome the easing of restrictions under the current alert level. The resumption of tourism-related activities in select areas will not only aid hotels and establishments in gradually earning revenue, but will also translate into the restoration of jobs for our displaced tourism workers, especially now that the holiday season is fast approaching,” said Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, secretary of Tourism.
