The Philippines Is Hailed as Asia's Leading Beach Destination for the Sixth Time

As much as we love traveling abroad for efficient transportation and well-preserved cultural centers, beach lovers—more often than not—still prefer the islands of the Philippines. In fact, the country has once again been hailed as Asia's Leading Beach Destination and Asia's Leading Dive Destination in the 29th World Travel Awards. Winners within Asia and Oceania were crowned in a red carpet ceremony on September 7 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

This is the sixth time the Philippines has been recognized as Asia's Leading Beach Destination, with the previous ones awarded in 2013, 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2021. It's also the fourth citation of the country for Asia's Leading Dive Destination title, which was previously given in 2019, 2020, and 2021. The Philippines was also the World's Leading Dive Destination in 2019, 2020, and 2021. The date has yet to be determined for the announcement for worldwide recognition, but it usually happens sometime in November or December.
