Heads up dreamers and changemakers, 917Ventures, the Globe-owned incubator—and also the largest corporate incubator in the country—has launched Velocity, its regional program for disruptors who want to create e-commerce, fintech, healthtech, or adtech businesses.

The ambitious program, which offers an initial grant of up to $50,000 (about P2.4 million), will help talents in their venture journey, from product development to seed round to becoming an independent entity.

Vince Yamat, managing director of 917Ventures, explains how it works: “We have structured Velocity in a way that really puts talents first. We’re here to support and help venture builders create successful businesses that would progress on to ultimately becoming a standalone entity with bright growth prospects.”

The three-month will accept up to 10 finalists. The first month will help talents build their products, while the next two months will guide them through taking their products to market and refining their value propositions.

It’s a pretty good opportunity, especially since Velocity taps into 917Ventures’ expertise. The corporate incubator has a proven track record in nurturing bright ideas, having invested in Mynt, which operates GCash, and managed the digital marketing company AdSpark and telehealth outfit KonsultaMD.

Moreover, Velocity is backed by the even larger ecosystem of Globe (and its parent company Ayala Corporation). 917Ventures underlines the unparalleled advantage of having Globe on your side as the telecoms giant gives participants access to its massive user base, nationwide distribution points, and data and resources, among others.

Building the future waits for no one. Velocity will accept applications for its first batch until January 4, 2021. This is your chance.
