Trump Might Just Announce His 2024 Presidential Bid Next Week

It's not that we didn't see it coming, after all. After hinting at during the past midterm elections, the ever-polarizing former President Donald Trump is likely going to announce his 2024 presidential run soon. In Steve Bannon's War Room podcast, Trump's longtime advisor Jason Miller explained that Trump might even make the announcement on as early as Tuesday next week.

Trump has ran for president in 2000, 2016, and 2020. He exited the White House in 2020 after losing to Democratic candidate Joe Biden. Of course, that hasn't been the last we've heard from him. Since then, he's claimed election fraud and has faced legal proceedings for his involvement in the US Capitol riots, as well as for taking supposedly top secret documents home. During the midterms, he had also handpicked several Republican candidates in key states, talking of a failed "red wave" in the country.

One particular reason why Trump is looking to run is because of the potential criminal charges from the current investigations. But unfortunately for Trump, major allies have began to turn on him, as well. The New York Post and the Murdoch-controlled The Wall Street Journal have not been shy about Trump's fall from grace.

Trump, however, has to go through Florida Governor Ron DeSantis now, who has emerged as one of the party's most important names after winning big in the recent elections. In typical Trump fashion, the former president had even warned DeSantis not to run for president. He had even called the governor “Ron DeSanctimonious” during one Pennsylvania rally. Nevertheless, Trump had voted for DeSantis.

“I think if he runs he could hurt himself very badly. I think the base would not like it – I don’t think it would be good for the party," he told reporters on his plane last week.
