Jessica Soho Interviews Presidential Candidates—and Becomes the Center of Attention for All the Right Reasons

"Ungkatan ng past?"

Veteran broadcast journalist Jessica Soho became the center of attention during her The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews show Saturday night (January 22) on GMA-7—and for all the right reasons.

Soho was praised for being direct, tough in her questioning, polite, and conducting her interviews backed by solid research.

Presidential candidates who participated in the show were Leni Robredo, Ping Lacson, Isko Moreno and Manny Pacquiao. Bongbong Marcos skipped the interview because, according to his camp, the award-winning journalist was “biased” against him.

The network came out with a statement defending Soho, saying she’s consistently named “the most trusted media personality in the Philippines,” and epilogued The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews with the statement, “The questions are tough because the job of the presidency is tough.”

Netizens pointed out that “lahat may resibo,” as Soho grilled the candidates, such as Moreno on his SALN and Lacson on his alleged involvement in the double-murder case of publicist Bubby Dacer and his driver Emmanuel Corbito.

Also stealing the viewers’ attention was the ill-fitting upholstery of the chairs. As one viewer pointed out, “We were tuned in for three hours so it was hard not to be nitpicky after some time.”
