A Large Cave Has Been Discovered in Laguna

A massive new cave was just discovered by government authorities in the town of Sta. Maria in Laguna. Very little is known about the cave, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources said they need more time to study the cave of its ecosystems and eventually map it.

The cave, named Pinagdaop Cave, has traces of evidence of modern humans of entering the cave. Wooden steps had been installed at its entrance, while concrete was poured on its floor. 

The DENR has recommended classifying the cave as class 1 geological formation because of its fragile state and the possible existence of undiscovered or endangered species in its caverns.
