Aesop's Aurner Defies Floral Norms
Aesop, an Australian luxury cosmetics brand, launches a new perfume envisioned as a nonconformist, floral fragrance. Created with Aesop’s long-term collaborator Céline Barel, Aurner opens with radiant citrus notes. This is accentuated by the green, fresh spices of cardamom and pink pepper, enriched by Roman chamomile.

Aesop launched the perfume at the Atrium in Makati with a multi-sensory tour befitting its unconventional approach to fragrance. The event began with an introduction to the story of the perfume, highlighting that Aurner is a fragrance drawing on the poetic tensions between tenderness and strength, exploring new dimensions of floral scents.

The Wildest and Dirtiest Perfume Ingredients
Surrounded by blooms, metallic vases, and tables laid with complementary foods, guests were introduced to Aurner's distinct aroma. A room with ambient red lighting, metallic flowers and perfume displays, offer a chance to smell the fragrance. Another room presented the essence of Aurner through its key ingredients, revealing its floral, spicy, and aromatic layers.

Aurner, as explained by Céline Barel, "embodies tensions like the fragility of the flowers versus the strength of the woods; the transparency of the bloom versus the solidity of the woods; fresh versus warm; vegetal versus metallic; feminine versus masculine; simple versus complex."
This concept befits the quote by Denis Diderot, "Poetry must have something in it that is barbaric, vast, and wild."
