In a single hypnotic stroke, Cartier has guaranteed itself a major new classic with the launch of the Hypnose, a jewelry watch whose appeal lies in the mesmerizing visual effect created by the case and the dial.
While the Hypnose might be new to Cartier, its elegant oval design is one of the watchmaker’s signature shapes. Created by Louis Cartier in 1912, the oval-form watches were put into production in 1956, and have since become Cartier’s most recognizable models.
Hypnose models come with a black leather strap.
The edges of the Hypnose’s oval shape are fitted with diamonds, adding to the piece’s femininity. The luminosity of the pavé-set diamonds creates a design that can function both as an exquisite day watch and an appropriate evening timepiece. Available in 18-karat pink gold and white gold, four of the Hypnose models come with black alligator skin straps that contrast nicely with the bezel and dial set with brilliant-cut diamonds. A particularly luxurious model—perhaps the most alluring of the set—features an 18-karat white-gold bezel, dial, and bracelet set entirely with brilliant-cut diamonds, finished with black laquer.
