With New Features, Now's the Best Time to Get the New Honda Civic
Since it was first introduced in 2016, the latest iteration of the Civic has sold almost 10,500 units in the country, making it one of Honda Philippines Inc.’s top sellers. To excite fans further, the Japanese car giant has added new styling and convenience features to the new 2019 version of the Civic.
The most obvious new features in the new Civic include a refreshed designed front bumper and full LED headlights equipped with integrated daytime running lights, giving the New Civic RS Turbo CVT and 1.8 E CVT a lower and wider stance. The sporty update is taken even further with new 18-inch Belrina black RS alloy wheels for the RS Turbo CVT and new 16-inch shark gray metallic alloy wheels for the 1.8 E CVT, both of which provide the new Civic a more aggressive and sportier look.
Inside, the new Civic likewise gets advanced tech upgrades, including an updated seven-inch touch screen advanced display audio system now equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability and integrated with hard buttons and a volume knob. For the RS Turbo CVT, there is a navigation feature, leather seats and leather interior trims for a more premium feel, as well as an eight-way power adjustable driver's seat and new sports pedals. This is on top of a full-color TFT instrument panel with a fully customizable information display.
Honda says it is also introducing the 1.8 S CVT, a brand new variant for the new Civic, which features new halogen projector headlights with integrated daytime running lights, 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels and the seven-inch touch screen display audio system inside.
The new 2019 Civic is available with two engine options: the 1.5-liter turbo charged DOHC i-VTEC engine for the RS Turbo, which produces 173 ps at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 22.4 kg-m at 1,700-5,500 rpm; and the 1.8 Liter SOHC i-VTEC engine for the 1.8 E and 1.8 S variants, which produces a maximum power of 141 ps at 6,500 rpm and 17.7 kg-m of torque at 4,300 rpm. On top of the Civic’s powertrains, Honda’s Eco Assist System, which consists of the ECON mode and Eco-Coaching Ambient Light, is still available to encourage drivers to achieve fuel-efficient driving.
The new Civic will be available five colors and starts at Php1.115 million for the 1.8 S CVT, Php1.185 million for the 1.8 E CVT and Php1.608 million for the RS Turbo CVT.
