Most luxury car brands would pop champagne bottles to celebrate a milestone. After Land Rover sold a record 700 units of its Defender since introducing it in the Philippines in 2020, the local dealer and distributor hosted a three-day experiential event complete with a pop-up air-conditioned tent pavilion, catering services from Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, and brand partnerships for wellness, relaxation, and outdoor adventure with premium brands like Snow Peak and Commune, Innisfree, and Mise En Scene at Arca South’s open park.

A conference room inside the Defender Hospitality Suite was specially prepared for a discussion area to brief off-roading participants as well as give the brand a chance to showcase its Defender Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle and the brand’s electrification plans in general. After the quick immersion, the participants can try out a specially prepared driving activity with the Defender 90 and Defender 110. The Defender Off Road Zone came in two sections called the Technical Area and the Playground.

The Technical Area offers a more complex and demanding driving course which requires strict guidance from Land Rover Certified Lead Instructors. The Playground, meanwhile, was designed to be an area where Defender owners freely drove their own vehicles and experienced the capabilities of the Defender over a variety of obstacles. Current Defender owners were encouraged to use their own vehicles to play in the mud and dirt track. Both of these areas were designed to have eight challenges to test the various off-roading capabilities as the brand continues to advocate that this generation of the Defender is the most capable Land Rover ever built.

“Filipinos, without a doubt, are such big fans of the Defender,” said Chris Ward, Vice President of IC Land Automotive Inc. and Land Rover Philippines. “This event is a great way to celebrate the ongoing success of the Defender here in the Philippines. We are truly delighted to see everyone come together and celebrate all things Defender. The new Defender has really proven that it is the most capable Land Rover ever built.”
